ETHICALLY SOURCED BEESWAX, CRUELTY FREE, NON TOXIC, KIND TO BEES
All of the wax in BATCH #001® candles is 100% beeswax, ethically sourced, cruelty free, non toxic and environmentally friendly.
It is sourced direct from local beekeepers who cherish and treat the bees as nature intended. They are on a mission to save the honeybee, as are we. For us the wax is THE most important aspect of the candle. It’s not just something to transfer a fragrance. This sacred, golden wax is precious and rare, and we treat every drop with respect.
Beeswax has been used to make candles for thousands of years, revered by our ancestors for its magical properties. All natural, anti fungal, anti bacterial, edible, naturally aromatic, it burns cleanly, is non toxic, and it was even said that it the ritual of burning beeswax candles aided wellbeing by purifying the air.
NO CHEMICAL OR SYNTHETIC INGREDIENTS
Unlike some of the big candle brands, we NEVER use paraffin – a by product of petroleum which can be toxic – or soy – 93% of the world’s soy is genetically modified, and it has to undergo a heavy manufacturing process to go from bean to wax – or any synthetic fragrance oils.
Our ORGANIC BEESWAX BALMS are formulated with Organic beeswax, which is the purest you can find. Created by bees who have pollinated only organic crops and flowers, completely free from pesticides. It is certified by the Soil Association and Cosmos.
Beeswax has been used in skincare for thousands of years, acclaimed for its healing properties. Beeswax moisturises, conditions, soothes and calms the skin. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxident properties, which makes it excellent to use in balms and salves for those who suffer from dry skin conditions such as eczema. It soothes itchiness and irritation, helps repair skin damage, promotes skin regeneration and creates a long lasting protective barrier against environmental pollutants, something which is crucial for eczema sufferers. It helps prevent harmful bacteria getting through any broken or chapped skin, adding an important layer of protection for those who may have topical allergies, or skin conditions such as eczema.
Beeswax is expensive, because it is produced in very small quantities – for every 8 grams of honey produced, there is only 1 gram of wax. It is also a complex wax to work with, which has its own unique and unpredictable characteristics. This is what we love and this is why we work with it.
